This is why I need a full-time maid
Attempted to clear the mountain of books which was threatening to take over my room.
I have this really bad habit of going through my (neat) book cabinet downstairs and digging up reading materials to peruse before bedtime. Thing is, I never put them back. And when I'm downstairs, I'll take out another book. And another. And another...
Until it took me five trips to replace 99% of the books back in the cabinet. Each trip warranted a garbage bag full of books. I didn't want to use a garbage bag, but hey, that was the largest and lightest bag available. I also discovered that I've got too many books, so out goes one year's worth Reader's Digest, Nat Geo mags, a stray Fengshui World mag, and various teenage novels (the serious British variety, not the slutty American ones) all to be donated to my mother's tuition center. I also threw in some proper novels - mostly chick lits and books I know I'll never read again.
I'm still missing one of my Philip Pullman novels... The Subtle Knife I think. I can't remember for the life of me if I read it online or I bought it and left it somewhere in my room. Gah. Still clinging on for dear life amidst the crazy mess is Cecilia Ahern's If You Could See Me Now, Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom for Sale - Sold!, Neil Gaiman's Mirrormask. I am still missing The Nixie's Song (Book 1 of Beyond The Spiderwick Chronicles) and one more hardcover chick lit which is still sealed in plastic. I have no idea why I bother to even buy chick lit when I hardly ever read them. But I've got my eye on The Demonologist: The Extraordinary Career of Ed and Lorraine Warren by Gerald Brittle (RM81.67 from Acmamall).
ARGH. MUST. RESIST.
